Objectives

  • Evaluate the genetic potential of bulls to gain weight rapidly
  • Measure feed intake to determine:
    • True feed efficiency
    • Residual feed intake
  • Breeding soundness evaluation of bulls – including:
    • Physical exam – includes the examination of eyes, feet, and legs, and overall condition
    • Reproductive tract exam – includes the examination of the testicles, spermatic cord, and examination of accessory sex glands and internal organs
    • Semen exam – includes evaluation of sperm motility and morphology.

  • Headed West into Carbondale

    • Take HWY 13 west
    • Turn Left on W. Murphysboro RD (Old 13 HWY) (Stop light after McDonalds)
    • Heading west turn Left on Tower RD (right after DOT building)
    • Heading south turn Right onto Chautauqua RD
    • Heading west turn Left on Rowden RD (first left off Chautauqua RD)
    • Heading south turn Left into first driveway of the test station
  • Headed East into Carbondale

    • Take HWY 13 east
    • Turn Right on W. Murphysboro RD (Old 13 HWY)
